Growing up in my grandmother’s home was not just a part of my life it shaped who I am. For many of us in India, ammamma (grandmother) is not just a family member; she’s a symbol of love, discipline, comfort, and most importantly unforgettable food. My childhood was blessed with many memories, but the one that stands out the most is the taste of my ammamma’s pickles. It’s not just about spice and salt it’s about love, tradition, and time-tested recipes that have fed generations.
The smell of freshly ground Guntur mirchi mingled with warm groundnut oil is something I can never forget. Those were not factory-made pickles; they were crafted carefully in the kitchen with bare hands, with the same affection that only a grandmother can offer. She used to say, “Pickle is not just a side dish; it’s the soul of the meal.” And she proved it every time she served it with hot rice and a spoon of ghee.
We started ammammas pickles finally
Today, I have taken her wisdom and her recipes to create Ammamma’s Pickles an online brand born from her legacy. Every jar we prepare is a tribute to her, made with the same care, the same ingredients, and the same love.
At Ammamma’s Pickles, we follow her original formulation without any shortcuts. We use premium-quality Guntur red chillies known for their bold flavour and spice. Our groundnut oil is cold-pressed, ensuring purity and natural aroma. The salt, garlic, ginger, and spices are all handpicked and cleaned before preparation. We don’t believe in preservatives or artificial colours. Why should we? Our pickles are meant to taste like home not a factory.
We don’t mass-produce. Every order is made fresh, just like ammamma would’ve done if you visited her home. From mango to lemon, from ginger to chilli we keep our selection rooted in traditional Andhra taste but with uncompromised quality.
But Ammamma’s Pickles is not just about taste. It’s about emotion. It’s about taking you back to those simpler days when food wasn’t just consumed it was felt. It’s about reminding you of your own ammamma’s love. Whether you are in India or living abroad, we want to bring that taste back to your plate.
We started in Rajahmundry, in the heart of East Godavari, and today, we are delivering across India. Our dream is to take Andhra’s authentic pickle tradition to the world, one jar at a time.
If you’ve ever missed the taste of homemade pickles… if you’ve ever wanted to relive those memories of your childhood meals… then give Ammamma’s Pickles a try. One bite, and you’ll know it’s not just a pickle. It’s pure love, sealed in a bottle.
