In many Indian homes, tomato pickle is a favourite. We make it the old-fashioned way at Ammamma’s Pickles, exactly like our grandparents did at home.
Local farms provide us with ripe, fresh tomatoes. The tomatoes are cooked slowly until they are thick and tender. Next, we add cold-pressed groundnut oil, mustard seeds, garlic, turmeric, and red chilli powder. It has a slightly sweet, sour, and spicy flavour.
Why is it unique? We don’t use artificial coloring, chemicals, or vinegar. It’s all natural. It is always fresh when it gets to you because each batch is created only after your order.
This tomato pickle can be eaten with chapati, dosa, idli, curd rice, or hot rice with ghee. It enhances the flavour of any meal.
